A New Niche for Anoxygenic Phototrophs as Endoliths

ABSTRACT Anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria (APBs) occur in a wide range of aquatic habitats, from hot springs to freshwater lakes and intertidal microbial mats. Here, we report the discovery of a novel niche for APBs: endoliths within marine littoral carbonates. In a study of 40 locations around Isla de Mona, Puerto Rico, and Menorca, Spain, 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing of endolithic community DNA revealed the presence of abundant phylotypes potentially belonging to well-known APB clades. Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Biznesa procesu reorganizācija komercbankās”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt, kā biznesa procesu reorganizācija tika ieviesta PSB bankā Krievijā, un novērtēt tās ietekmi uz banku un tās klientiem. Darba saturs ir sadalīts trīs daļās. Pirmajā daļā tiek sniegts teorētiskais atspoguļojums ar piedāvātajām biznesa procesu reorganizācijas definīcijām un teorijām (turpmāk - BPR). Darba otrajā daļā ir ietverta vispārīga informācija par PSB Banku Krievijā, un ieviestās BPR analīze. Darba pēdējā daļa ir empīrisks pētījums, kas sniedz kvantitatīvu analīzi par BRP ietekmi, kas ieviesta PSB bankā, Krievijā.

New-stage discharge relationships for free and submerged sluice gates

Abstract The flow movement through a sluice gate is investigated for both free and submerged flow conditions. For free flow condition, the current dimensionless formula, indicated acceptable accuracy; while for submerged flow condition it was modified especially for low submerged condition. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober sampai November 2014 di perairan Pasir Putih Kabupaten Manokwari, berlokasi di Pantai Air Salobar. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan terumbu karang, kualitas fisik-kimia air dan korelasi kualitas fisik-kimia air terhadap persentase tutupan terumbu karang di bagian barat daya perairan Pasir Putih, Manokwari. Metode yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data persentase tutupan karang adalah Point Intercept Transect (PIT) pada kedalaman 3 m (Transek I), 7 m (Transek II) dan 10 m (Transek III). Abstract A prevalent procedure for the production of second generation bioethanol makes use of engineered yeast strains capable to hydrolyze cellobiose either in the cytosol or extracellularly. These two approaches have been compared in this study. For intracellular cellobiose hydrolysis, we initially tested three recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains that produced different cytosolic β-glucosidases and the cellodextrin transporter Po_CdtC from Penicillium oxalicum . The ≈ 850 km section of the western shore, comprising the coastline of the Red Sea State of the Republic of Sudan, has however been sparsely studied. Sudan’s coral reef fishery provides livelihoods to fishers and business opportunities by means of local and regional trade, however, the knowledge level of the state of the natural resources and the impacts of fisheries are poorly known.
